France, Second Empire, Medaille Militaire, silver-gilt and enamel, badly chipped.
Turkish Crimea 1855, British issue, unnamed, fitted with Crimea suspension.
Edge bruising and contact marks, good fine or better.
Medaille Militaire: ‘Colour-Sergeant John Thompson, joined his regiment in the field at Inkermann, having marched that morning, on hearing the firing, from Balaklava, where he had been on detached regimental duty; constantly at his duty in the trenches during the siege; in both attacks on the Redan on the 18th of June, and the 8th of September, 1855.’
