Joshua Neal was born in Oxford and enlisted with the Royal West Kent Regiment. 29th October 1881, age 24 years and 2 months.Transfered to the East Kent Regiment 7th december 1881 then The Rifle Brigade 1 October 1883. Neal's character is listed as very good. Total served, 12 years. All confirmed in copy of service papers and medal rolls.
